It is heat molded, with lightly painted details. The pin has a glued on plastic and metal pin mechanism, which was typical of the period for plastic brooches. It is in excellent vintage condition (EUC). These types of pins were very popular in the 1940s, when the war effort led to severe shortages of metal for jewelry making. The pin measures 2 1 2" from wing tip to wing tip, and
